RIGHT TURN FROM A MINOR ROAD

Being in the rightmost lane, approach the right turn with the right side of your car just left of the middle of the road.

On the one hand, you must leave enough room for other vehicles to pass on the left; remember that unless the kerb-side lane has right turn arrow you cannot turn right from it (ARR r. 31, r.32) - this rule is to avoid collision with cars in the same road as yours.

On the other hand, you must leave enough room on the right for oncoming vehicles and vehicles turning left into your road from the crossing road, so keep the right side of your car close to the middle of the road, but not to the right of its centre.

On a road without a dividing line and in a curved turn give extra attention not to get to the right of the centre.

Obviously, you skip this step if several lanes are marked for turning right, and you are approaching the right turn in a lane other than the rightmost.
