DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD
THROUGH AN INTERSECTION ON A MAJOR ROAD
Explication
If
traffic across the intersection is jammed, wait at the road junction not
entering the intersection until there is room across for your car.
ARR
prohibit entering a blocked intersection (r.128), and you are not to block
even minor roads (r.170 (1)).

do not drive across a side road until you see room for your car

Check
for a bus or long truck in an adjacent lane that is signalling turn in the direction of your lane, and if there is one:
stop in your lane at the rear end
of the long vehicle, and wait until it completes the turn.
Certain long vehicles display “Do
Not Overtake Turning Vehicle” sign, practically meaning: “Do not pass me from
the side where I am turning”. For example, you can pass a long vehicle
turning left along its right side, but in a lane left to this vehicle you
must stop and wait until it completes the turn.
