Steering lock release lever
First,
adjust seating position within comfortable reach of pedals.
How?
- see CAR CONTROLS section – Pedals above.
Then
adjust the steering wheel height for your hands to rest comfortably on its
upper half.
To
adjust the wheel, in a parked car push down the lock release lever, and tilt
the steering wheel to the angle where your hands rest comfortably on its
upper half with elbows slightly bent when your shoulders are against the back
of the seat. With the properly adjusted seat and steering, when you place
your wrist on the top of the steering wheel at 12 hours, you still maintain a
slight bent in the elbow. Positioning yourself too close to the wheel or too
far from it impairs efficiency of steering.
Lock
the wheel by pushing the lever up to its original position.
Try moving the steering wheel up and down to make sure it has locked
securely.
