Brake-ready
driving means driving with you foot covering the brake pedal, ready to slam
on the brakes.
You drive brake-ready whenever you
see someone who may not be able to judge your speed and could step into the
road in front of you, e.g. kids, elderly, people with disabilities or drunk.
Kill your speed whenever you
approach a pedestrian, rather than allowing the pedestrian kill your future.
Whenever you have to drive
brake-ready, consider flashing high beam once to warn others of your
presence, and also be horn-ready, i.e. place a palm on the horn ready to
sound.
