LANE SELECTION

Special lanes

Driving straight, you are not allowed to drive in special lanes, including tram tracks.

To turn or overtake a vehicle turning right you may enter:

bicycle lane - within 50 meters to the turn (unless a cyclist is there);

all other lanes (bus, taxi, truck, etc) -  within 100 meters to the turn.

The above exceptions allowing you to enter a special lane are specified in ARR r.158.

Council white line near the kerb that reserves an area for parking is not described in ARR: in real life you may enter this area for slowing down before left turn, however, being a grey area in road rules, this is not advisable during your driving test.
