LANE SELECTION
One-way road
Turning
from a two-way road into an unmarked one-way road, go into the lane free of
parked cars.
Though
left-hand lane is traditionally used for parking, and hence you would drive
in the right-hand lane, there is no rule for this. Obeying common sense,
drivers park their vehicles just on one side of the one-way road (either left
or right), keeping the other side free for traffic.
To
turn left out of a one-way road, you can use either left, or right side of
the road, whichever offers you the best observation (unless turn arrows
indicate otherwise).
ARR
don’t require you to use exclusively left lane for left turn from a one-way
road, so make your choice. However, some one-way roads may have turn arrow
road marking prescribing lane for left turn, as on the photograph below.

To
turn right out of a one-way road, use the right side of the road.
The
latter is required by ARR (r.31(4)).
