KERBSIDE STOP

Slow down and slowly pull over to the left kerb at about 20 degrees until you cannot see the kerb under the hood.

How? - see CAR CONTROLS section – Pedals - Foot Brake pedal & braking technique.

Continue creeping, and at the moment when you see an imaginary line of the kerb has crossed the left sprinkler on the hood, start steering right.

The moment when you start turning to the right in order to bring your car parallel to the kerb predetermines how far from the kerb your car will park. To park within the required 30-40 cm from the kerb you need to 1) approach the kerb at an acute angle, 2) drive very slowly, and 3) have a clear turning point when you should start steering right.

For an average car the moment when an imaginary line of the kerb crosses the left windscreen washer sprinkler on the hood is the turning point where you should steer right, however, depending on the size of your car you may need to develop your own orienting point.
