Though
Road Rules keep silent on upward diagonal arrow traffic light, you may meet
this diagonal arrow at an intersection of 3 and more roads, where it
regulates traffic along the diagonal road, while the full light regulates
traffic along the road going straight ahead.
At
the traffic lights with a diagonal arrow and no turn arrow, the diagonal
arrow also regulates the corresponding turn (e.g. a left diagonal arrow also
regulates left turn), and on green diagonal arrow you can either go into the
diagonal road or turn into the crossing road.
When
both the turn arrow and the diagonal arrow are present: for turns you
interpret the turn arrow together with the full traffic light, while for the
diagonal road you read the diagonal arrow exclusively, as well as you read
exclusively the full light for the road going straight ahead. This is
explained in detail hereafter.
Note
that you can go into the diagonal road only from a designated lane having the
diagonal arrow road marking; you do not have to blink turn signal when going
to the diagonal road.
